Although GettysburgGuide has been online since 1996, for most of the years that have gone by time and circumstance have prevented us from making the investment that it requires to keep it current. These pages were originally created with an inexpensive film camera and a hand scanner. GettysburgGuide was never pretty. However, it was always a labor of love.
Now that we've relocated and live right in the middle of this magnificent battlefield we'll be updating these pages on a regular basis. We've already started replacing our old scanned photos with new digital ones that hopefully will do a far better job of communicating the sheer beauty and grandeur of this place. You'll find the new photos by following the Images of the Gettsyburg Battlefield link from our home page.
Our simple format will remain the same as will our goal in bringing it to you. GettysburgGuide has one and only one reason for its existence. It is here to share the beauty of the Gettysburg battlefield with the world and to help orient visitors to the battlefield prior to their visit so that the precious few days that most are able to spend here will be memorable ones.
When we posted our first photos on this website 12 years ago we never expected that over a half million people would see them. This volume of visitors can only be a testimony to one thing, the place that Gettysburg holds in the hearts of people across this country and around the world. Thank you for taking the time to visit with us. In the days and months ahead we intend to do everything we can to make certain that you remain updated and in love with this beautiful place.
