Meade's Headquarters. You won't
believe how small it is when you see it. You can step up on the porch
and look in. Just two rooms inside and I think 10 men would have filled
it to capacity.
Observation tower on Confederate Ave.
This is a favorite spot to park and climb. The view from the top is
magnificent. You can see the beautiful green fields of Gettysburg, the
Eisenhower farm, and the South Mountains filling the horizon. The two
main challenges here are getting to the top and chancing upon a clear
crisp day when there's no haze on the mountains.
Monument to Gen. Samuel Wiley
Crawford in the Valley of Death. A park road cuts right along the side
of this monument and passes directly through the middle of the Valley.
You'll get a great view of the face of Little Round Top and gain a
perspective on what it must have been like to assault that hill.
This 5th Corp 3rd Division monument
sits just to the right of Gen. Crawford's monument and explains the
movements of these troops during the Battle.
Park plaque placed next to Ewell's
artillery positions on Confederate Ave.
Another view of the same plaque with
cannon placements nearby.
