| Monument on top of Little Round Top to Col. Patrick O'Rorke of the 140th
NY Infantry. O'Rorke led his men down the steep western face of Little Round
Top in a bayonnet charge with unloaded muskets. They successfully defended this
ground but O'Rorke lost his life in the charge. You can't see it in this image
but the likeness of O'Rorke has a very shiny nose. Every visitor who passes it
rubs it for "good luck"!

| These next four images are a sweep of the western face of Little Round Top.
I purposely took these shots with light snow cover so the terrain stands out
clearly. In mid-summer its overgrown with brush and sometimes hard to discern.

| Second shot in the sweep. This is the summit of Little Round Top. Weed and
Hazlet's batteries positioned here. Statue of General Warren also here. |
| Moving to the right. Look closely in the center of the image between the two
trees and you'll see a stone monument that looks like a little fort. The closeup
is in the final image below. |
| This elaborate monument on top of Little Round Top is the monument to the
44th NY Infantry. You can climb to the top and get a fantastic view of the
Valley of Death and Devil's Den below. |
