Come and Get It! The dinner bell on the patio at the Eisenhower Farm. Ike
entertained many heads of state here in simple elegance on his beloved Gettysburg
farm. |
 |
The Eisenhower Farm House. This is a must see. It's probably not what you
expected. But I'll promise you one thing. When you step into this home you're going
to feel like the Eisenhowers are still living in it. |
 |
Another view of the Farm from the patio. The Eisenhowers loved the screened
in porch. As you walk through the front door and get a feel for their home you'll
swear they're still sitting on that porch waiting for you to walk by. In the bedrooms
upstairs the contents of Ikes pockets are laid out on on the night table next to the
bed and clothes are hanging in the open closets. Its quite something to see. |

The Reception Center at the Eishenhower Farm. A shuttle bus takes you from
the Visitors Center to the Farm. Many tours per day. Early Spring and late Fall
can be good times because visitors are fewer. The day in April when this series
of photos was taken we were just about the only visitors on the Farm. |

The Masonic Monument just outside the National Cemetery. It's entitled
"Friend to Friend" and depicts a Union soldier attending Gen. Armistead.
It is simply magnificent. |
| This is the first monument ever to be placed in Gettysburg. It's in the
National Cemetery and it's for the 1st Minnesota Volunteers. |
